The contribution of Distance education in Girls Education- December 2, 2011

At Gulab Singh Shaktawat Auditorium, under the aegis of UGC Women's Studies Centre, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, a seminar on the contribution of Distance education in Girls Education was organized on 2-December 2011. Program’s guest of honour was honorable Prof.I V Trivedi, Vice-Chancellor Mohanlal Sukhadia University Udaipur. The Chief Guests of the program were Prof. Madhusudan Sharma, Vice Chancellor University of Kota. The main speaker of the semnar was Prof. Nawal Kishore Sharma, Director, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi who discussed the importance of distance education in career advancement. He highlighted upon the opportunities available for girls in distance education.

Prof. Arun Chaturvedi as specific speaker, Director Regional Centre, Vardhman Mahaveer Open University, Udaipur mentioned that there are new courses that are always being included in the distance learning. Director of Center Prof. Renu Jatana said that the girls' education is a critical requirement of the present time and Distance education programs are an important tools in helping girls to get higher studies especially for those girls who can’t move out of their native place.
